Safety Precautions

Our Precautions

Since shutdown, our school has been actively working to implement numerous safety precautions for our students and staff to come back in Fall 2020. The following major steps have been taken to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

    • Changes in class sizes: The average class size will be of 12 students per cohort for in-person instruction.
    • Ventilation: In an effort to increase air flow, we are opening windows whenever possible. BC's Back-to-School Plan Isn't Good Enough | The Tyee
    • Cleaning:  Our custodial team will clean all classrooms twice daily, once before the school day and once in the afternoon. In addition, all classroom teachers will be provided with sanitizing wipes to wipe down all surfaces and commonly shared resources on an as-needed basis throughout the school day.
    • Hand sanitation: All bathrooms will have extra hand-washing soap provided. In addition, we will provide teachers with hand sanitizer for the classroom.
    • Testing: Beginning October 1 and each month afterwards, there will be mandatory random testing of 10-20% of a school's student and staff population to ensure minimal spread.
